Van Long Naturte Reserved > DelacourLangur (an endemic species of primate, CR on status), Pheasant-tailed Jacana, White-browed Crake, Asian Openbill, Yellow Bittern, Cinnamon Bittern, White-throated Kingfisher,

Xuan Thuy Ramsar > Black-faced Spoonbil, Asian Dowitcher, Gulls, Waders, Shorebirds, Buntings, Shrikes, Kingfishers.

The Itinerary :

Day 1: Hanoi > Cuc Phuong National Park

Meet you at Hanoi Noi Bai airport or your hotel in Hanoi, go to Cuc Phuong National Park (2,5 hours), check in hotel then birding and photography for Bar-bellied and Blue-rumped Pitta. Cuc Phuong has 18 km along main road, different trails inside the park and some water holes and feeding places for birding and photography.

Meals:  L / D.   Accommodation: Comfortable guesthouse of the park (air-condition, hot shower, free WIFI)

Day  2, 3, 4:  Cuc Phuong National Park

Three full days searching for target birds at Botanical garden, Cave of Prehistoric Man, Valley trail, Loop trail, along the road and some feeding spots and water holes inside the park, such as Eared Pitta, Ratchet-tailed Treepie, Pied Falconet, Red-Collared Woodpecker, White-tailed Flycatcher, Limestone Wren Babbler, Silver-breasted Broadbill, Red-vented Barbet, Rufous-throated Fulvetta, Fork-tailed Sunbird.

Day 5:   Cuc Phuong - Xuan Thuy via Van Long

Check out in early morning, leave Cuc Phuong for Xuan Thuy. Take a stopping off at Van Long Nature Reserved for Delacour Langur and some waders (2-3 hours), before going to Xuan Thuy. Check in then birding and photography in the afternoon for Black-faced Spoonbill. Xuan Thuy is a Ramsar area, good place for Black-faced Spoonbill, waders, shorebirds and migrators in winter.

Day 6 : Xuan Thuy

A full day for birding and photography at feeding spot, shrimp ponds and shoreline at Xuan Thuy for target birds.

Day 7: Xuan Thuy - Tam Dao

Birding and photo at Xuan Thuy till lunch time. Leave Xuan Thuy for Tam Dao after lunch (4 hours), arrive Tam Dao end of the day.

Meals:  B / L / D.    Accommodation: Good hotel near the top of Tam Dao mountain (>1000 metter above sea level)

Day 8, 9:  Tam Dao

Two full days for target birds on Watertank trail, TV tower trail and feeding spot at Tam Dao for Blue-naped Pitta, Short-tailed Parrotbill, Grey Laughingthrush, Streak-breasted Scimitar-babblers, chestnut Bulbul, Chestnut-collared and Black-chinned Yuhina, ScheaffersFulvetta, Sultan Tit.

Day 10: Tam Dao - Noi Bai airport

Some final birding and photo at Tam Dao before going down to Noi Bai airport for departure flight.
